Always great seeing one of our own on the news. Great spotlight for It's Alive Automotive. Way to go Jeff Homsher and company!
A milestone for the SS One Airline was participation in the Tour with a successful completion. On Thursday, Lisa and I successfully finished the 70+ mile Pebble Beach Tour! I am thrilled that we can report that the car ran great and finished with the end result being a Green Ribbon for the accomplishment. The significance of this is that the Tour completion represents a "tie breaker" in the class on Concours d'Elegance Sunday if another car that you tied with did not participate in or complete the Tour. There were several cars that were towed back. The route is a significant challenge for many old cars with hairpin turns, steep uphill/downhill grades, slow and highway speeds as well as traffic that is stop and go near the end. The stop and go resulted in several cars overheating. I am happy to report that our Airline ran with an average 70-75 degree temperature and consistent oil pressure. We had a very memorable experience!
The annual Jaguar Birthday Party was held on Sunday, July 18th, to celebrate JAGSL’s 60 years of existence. There were 28 members in attendance, of which many were new members who have joined in the past year.
We headed off to Road America for our third racing weekend of 2021. Our first two racing venues were ones in which we had never been to before. We had a very successful and fun time down at Barber Motorsport Park in Birmingham, Alabama. We got to race against another XKE Coupe, visit the largest motorcycle museum in the world, and had a blast in Birmingham. The XKE ran well and the weather was beautiful.
