Fall 2026 Jaguar Association of Greater St. Louis

Fall 2026 Jaguar Association of Greater St. Louis

Dear Visitor

JAGSL Concours Update — and Where to Find Us Instead

As many of you have already heard, JAGSL will not hold the Concours d’Elegance scheduled for October 10. Without club sanctioning, we could not guarantee the participation numbers the Elks Club required, so the show has been cancelled.

That same weekend, though, there is a very good reason to point the car toward the Lake of the Ozarks. Member Phil Taxman will be racing his 1964 Jaguar XKE Series 1 Coupe at Ozarks International Raceway in Gravois Mills — about a three-hour drive from St. Louis.

OIR is a 3.97-mile, state-of-the-art road course set in the hills of the Ozarks. The full layout has 19 corners, a 150-foot elevation difference across the circuit, and about 1,200 feet of total elevation change in a single lap. It is a demanding, scenic track, and Phil is usually one of the few Jaguars on the grid. Come out and cheer him on.

Looking a little further ahead:

  • Late October — Judges training session at Hyman Ltd.
  • November — JAGSL annual meeting

Watch the club calendar for dates, times, and details. We hope to see you at the track, in training, or at the meeting.

Jaguar National News

Jaguar Land Rover is in a high-stakes reset: Jaguar is about to unveil its first all-new car in years, while the parent company is cutting costs after a rough financial year.

The big Jaguar story:
Type 01 reveal next week

Jaguar’s first production car of the new era — the Type 01 four-door electric GT — is scheduled to be revealed in New York on 6 October 2026.

That car follows the polarizing Type 00 concept. Jaguar has stopped selling its old lineup (including the F-Pace) and is trying to reposition as a smaller, more expensive, electric-only luxury brand rather than a volume rival to BMW and Mercedes.

Expected shape of the Type 01:

  • Four-door luxury GT on a dedicated Jaguar electric architecture
  • Targeted range around 400+ miles / ~700 km
  • Very high performance (reports point to a tri-motor setup in the 1,000 hp class)
  • Price in the roughly $130,000 / ÂŁ100,000-plus range
  • Customer deliveries aimed at first half / summer 2027

Jaguar has also shown the interior: a long central spine, four separate seating zones, and a stripped-back, stone-inspired cabin. The company still says Jaguar will stay electric-only, after denying reports that a range-extender hybrid was in the works.

JLR’s wider business: profits down, jobs cut, EVs still coming

The Jaguar relaunch is happening while JLR is under pressure.

  • FY26 revenue fell about 21% to ÂŁ22.9 billion. Pre-tax profit (before exceptionals) collapsed from ÂŁ2.5 billion to about ÂŁ14 million. Free cash flow was deeply negative.
  • Causes cited: a major cyberattack that halted production, weaker China demand, U.S. tariffs, and the planned wind-down of old Jaguar models.
  • In Q1 of FY27 (quarter to June 2026), revenue was still down 9.6%, though the quarter stayed modestly profitable.
  • JLR is cutting about 4,000 jobs (roughly 10% of the workforce) over two years and targeting ÂŁ1.7 billion in savings so it can keep investing in new products.

CEO P.B. Balaji has framed 2026 as a product year: Range Rover Electric, Range Rover Sport Electric, and the Jaguar Type 01, plus more models on the new EMA platform. Land Rover brands keep mixed powertrains (mild hybrid, hybrid, PHEV, BEV). Jaguar is the one brand going fully electric.

The company is also leaning harder into North America, including talks with Stellantis about possible U.S.-oriented Defender products.

What to watch next

  1. 6 October — Type 01 world reveal in New York.
  2. Whether the design and price land with buyers after two years of brand controversy and no Jaguar showroom product.
  3. Launch of the Range Rover Electric, which JLR is treating as a nearer-term volume/profit driver than Jaguar.
  4. Whether cost cuts and the U.S. push stabilize cash flow before the new cars actually start shipping in 2027.

In short: Land Rover is still the cash engine, Jaguar is a high-risk luxury reboot, and the next few weeks are when that reboot finally gets a real car instead of a concept.
